Let’s do an end of the month check in! January was a long month of exhaustion. Two weeks after Alice’s surgery we found ourselves in a car accident. Everyone was okay. The car was not. And I ended up with a mild concussion leaving me pretty darn tired for a total of 6-8 weeks. Seriously, I do one thing and suddenly I need a nap. I still have another 3-5 weeks of feeling tired all the time. My memory isn’t doing all that well either, but to be honest, it wasn’t super great beforehand. But – my cartooning hand thankfully escaped (mostly) unscathed. Alice is doing fine – car seats are magical.
Big shout out to all that joined me in The NerdCare Epic Quest! Thank you for your participation! I learned a lot about myself and I hope that you all had a blast spending five minutes a day on your nerdiness. The biggest lesson that I got out of the NerdCare Epic Quest is that I do not put myself first often enough. It was a bigger challenge than I thought it would be. I plan on doing a NerdCare check in periodically just to be sure that I’m not neglecting myself. I’ve already started building some daily NerdCare into my morning routine. I now spend 30 minutes each morning reading before Alice gets up. I hope that others also discovered new ways to add NerdCare into their daily routines. (Did you miss out on the fun? Don’t worry, go to geekasaurus.net/nerdcare101 to learn all about it). We’ll do this again before the year is over.
Alice is all about telling stories these days. She babbles and roars all day long, using her hands and arms in grand gestures as she tells me epic tale after epic tale. I just wish I knew what she was saying. She gets so excited!
Also, did you notice the newest drawing change? I’ll give you a hint … check out the close up shot … see it yet? Alice has a tooth! She seems to be growing more teeth now too, so Wayne and I are getting very little sleep these days.
All in all, despite setbacks and very expensive adventures, we’re doing great. January ushered 2018 in with a huge bang. If the rest of the year is as exciting as this one month, we’re in for a wild ride.
Coming up in February – a highlight on family gaming! I’m so exited to share my experiences with family games and how gaming is a great way to bring everyone together. Stay tuned for some amazing content to come.
As always, Rawr.
